CHRISTMAS CHEER AT WELLGATE
The Wellgate Shopping Centre is a Christmas haven this year with lots of exciting gift ideas, toys, delicious food and festive fashion all under one roof. Plus there’s also a whole host of festive goings-on to keep the whole family entertained.
Children young and old have the chance to meet Santa, who will be resident in his grotto on the first floor. From as little as 3.50 per person, little ones can meet the man himself and take away their first Christmas present of the season. They can even have their picture taken for free.
Following a successful performance in the Centre for the Dundee Christmas lights switch-on, Dundee Junior Showtime will return to the Wellgate on Sunday 7, Sunday 14 and Sunday 21 December. To help shoppers get into the festive spirit they will perform favourite Christmas carols and songs.
On Friday 19 and Saturday 20 December, volunteers from Little Sisters of the Poor will be hosting charity wrapping stations on Levels 1 and 3 in the Centre. With wrapping paper kindly donated by Poundland, each present will only cost 1 to be wrapped with all the proceeds going to the Wellburn Nursing Home, Dundee.
John Morton, Centre Manager, said;
“With around 40 top retailers all under one roof there is something for all tastes and budgets at the Wellgate. To make shopping even easier, the Centre opening hours will be extended from 15 December, Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, so there is always a chance to pop in and pick up the perfect present or last minute bargain.”
Also there’s no need to struggle with bags: the Wellgate Shopping Centre has 600 parking places and the best prices in town from only 1.00 for one hour on weekdays and 1.50 all day Sunday.
