Looking for gift ideas for 9 year old soon to be stepson. Please Help. ?

Any gift ideas to give the couple who is sponsoring our reception?

Our reception is being held at a private country club and this couple has offered to sponsor us since we are not members ourselves. The lady is also hosting a shower for me. Naturally they are being invited to the reception, but we wanted to get them a really nice gift to show how thankful we are. We would like to get them something really thoughtful, but we are having problems thinking up something. Our only ideas so far have been a gift certificate to a nice dinner, but we think that is a little impersonal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
